Easter

We sort of abandoned our Letter of the Week activities during the week before Easter.  Instead, we got creative making gifts and decorations. 

We had some fun doing a spring puzzle. Over and over.

The night before Easter we always set out a carrot for the Easter Bunny.

Every year the Easter Bunny leaves behind "Magic Dust."  We say that he pops in and out magically, and when he pops out, it leaves magic dust behind. 

The Easter Bunny also left a note telling Little Guy how he hid 10 eggs around the house, each filled with something special (coins and one egg contained a dollar bill). 

We've been sticking with our goal of simplification ever since Christmas and it's going beautifully.  In Little Guy's Easter basket there was ONE movie, and ONE chocolate bunny.  That's it.  Nothing else.  And you know what?  He was thrilled.  He wanted to eat the bunny at breakfast, and since it was a holiday we said "sure."  Well, he took a couple of tiny bites and decided he wanted to save it for later.  He made that chocolate bunny last for days.  He actually came up to me whimpering when it started getting small because he loved his bunny and was going to miss it.  It was so sweet.  

We spent the day doing what we love best, trekking through the woods, discovering new things, and spending time together as a family.  That will be what is remember when Little Guy looks back on holidays.  Not all 47 items in a basket, but the memories we made together as a family.
